Questions
How long does it take to learn 500 Korean words?
At 2 new words at a time and up to 12 new words a day, about 6 weeks of daily practice. With Sorry Scroll that practice happens in 30-second steps each time you open a blocked app, so someone who opens their blocked apps 25 times a day gets there in roughly 6 weeks without setting aside study time.
Are 500 words enough to speak Korean?
They are enough for simple everyday exchanges: greetings, numbers, time, food, directions, feelings and the most-used verbs. They are not fluency, but they are the words you will hear and need first.
What is the best way to memorize these Korean words?
Learn two at a time, say each one out loud, then test yourself on them later the same day and again a few days after. Short, spaced reviews beat long sessions. Sorry Scroll schedules those reviews for you.
Is this list free?
Yes. The full list is free to read here. Sorry Scroll's app teaches the same 500 words with audio for every word and sentence, and the free plan includes every language.
